The 13th constitutional amendment states:
"Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction."

Ava DuVernay, the producer of the moving film 'Selma' is the producer of this thought-provoking, infuriating and very sad documentary. This film breaks down everything after the abolition of slavery in The United States of America. You get an insight of the mistreatment of black Americans. President after president you see what each one introduced to the law/habits in which contribute to the suppression of black America to this day. Seeing prison population growth sky rocket by the thousands each year was disgusting. Having a system which purposefully takes black people off the street with the aim of making sure the prisons are full, at any cost. At one point, it rose by over 1 million inmates within a decade. The incarceration of black Americans being the majority.
Seeing snippets of Hilary Clinton and Donald Trump in the 90's in all their racist glory was quite harrowing. These two are the final in the running for President, and America voted them there. America is broken. I'm so stunned and sad after seeing this and I suggest everyone watches it. Great watch!
